When Ange Postecoglou arrived at Celtic, there was a constant call from his most ardent overseas supporters.
A-League and J-League fanatics have often spoken of a boss who was incredibly efficient but whose methods took a long time, even an entire campaign or more, to fall asleep.
But the Scottish Football Writers’ Association manager of the year knew that, at a club the size of the elected Premiership champions, he wouldn’t have a chance in a second season if the first didn’t go through as expected.
11 months after his unveiling, he is set to win a Premier Sports Cup and a league double in his first term as boss.
All it takes is to score one more point on Wednesday night against Dundee United.
And when asked about this “second season effect,” he hinted that the best was yet to come.

Speaking at the SFWA awards night, Postecoglou said: “Listen, we have to be better next year, regardless of how we’ve been this year.
“But the way I want the teams to play and the whole training process – it takes some time for people to get used to.
“I really hope that next year we will be a stronger team. We have to be, and I can’t wait to see what that brings.”
Postecoglou took home a double award after fellow professionals also voted him PFA Director of the Year.
He added: “I am very proud and honored to receive this award, there have been a number of outstanding performances from our managers this year.
“I am happy and honored to receive it, but I also recognize that I have received tremendous support, especially from the staff and everyone at the football club. And obviously the players have been exceptional.”
