Boris Johnson tells France to ‘take a grip and give me a station wagon’ on submarine row

WWith Boris Johnson still in the US, today’s PMQs will look and feel different, with Dominic Raab making a comeback for the first time since the Prime Minister’s contact with Covid.

Here’s what else to expect today:

10:30 am: Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng asked by MPs on UK gas market

11:30 am: Questions on women and equality – Liz Truss, who kept the dossier with her promotion to foreign minister, is also absent, so these will be taken by the rest of the team, including Kemi Badenoch and Mike Freer.

12h: PM’s Questions – Raab to face Angela Rayner in weekly clash

12:40 Urgent questions / statements – details to be confirmed

2 p.m.: Professor Chris Whitty asked by MPs on childhood immunizations

2.15 p.m .: Google, Facebook and Amazon testify before the Commons Treasury Committee on economic crime.

In the United States, Boris Johnson will meet with American politicians on Capitol Hill, including Senators Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell, United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.

He will then travel to Arlington Cemetery to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, before returning to New York City, where he will deliver his climate change address to the United Nations General Assembly in the early hours of the morning, British time.
