World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler entered Masters week with the second-best odds to win the first major tournament of the year.
But now, he holds both the world rankings and the top spot in PointsBet sportsbook, as he currently sits alone atop the leaderboard midway through the tournament.
Scheffler’s odds (courtesy of PointsBet) rose from +1400 to start the week to +110 after the second round after taking a record five stroke lead at Augusta National.
He is currently the favorite against defending champion Hideki Matsuyama, who after a 69 second round is +1100 (+5000 to start the week) with Dustin Johnson (T-6) and Cam Smith (T-6). Matsuyama is looking to become the fourth player to repeat as a Masters champion and the first since Tiger Woods in 2002.
Meanwhile, Jon Rahm, who was the betting favorite at +1100 this week, is now listed at +6000 – along with Matthew Fitzpatrick – for the 10th best odds in the field. The Spaniard is T-23 at 2 over two days.
Woods, who made the cut 1 over and sits T-19, nine strokes ahead of Scheffler at 8 under. Woods’ odds are 14th from the field at +9000. At the start of the week it was +8000. The Big Cat, however, still has a better chance of winning against many players who are ahead of him in the standings.
